Transportation Funding is Critical to Robertson County

This week the Tennessee House will take up discussion of Governor Haslam's IMPROVE Act,  a transportation funding bill which seeks to increase funding for road and traffic improvements through a 7-cent increase in the state gas tax. While residents and businesses are  right to be skeptical about raising taxes, it is critical that our state legislators examine this issue in depth and make sure that the important needs for road maintenance and expansion are taken care of in an expedient and responsible manner.

Governor Focuses on Broadband Access

Access to reliable, affordable broadband is a big issue in Robertson County. Coverage by the major players in this market is primarily only available in the denser, more urban areas of the county. Robertson County, like Sumner and  Montgomery, have wide swaths of less densely populated areas in the northern sections which have little or no access to these services.
