Airtech Honored as Industry of the Year

Last Thursday, the Robertson County Chamber of Commerce and our business retention and expansion program, SEE (Supporting Existing Employers) hosted our fifth annual Industry Appreciation Breakfast at the Springfield-Robertson County Airport.  This annual event brings industry reps from all across Robertson County together with elected officials, economic development partners, and industrial development board members for a chance to meet, network and hear from a speaker of interest to all.  The SEE program at the Chamber has been underwritten for the past five years by the investors of the Realizing Robertson's Future economic development campaign.

A Successful Annual Meeting

What a tremendous turnout for our first Robertson County Chamber Annual Breakfast Meeting last week! In response to changing preferences, our staff decided to try turning our traditional annual dinner and social evening into two separate events: a breakfast meeting to cover the business of our annual members' meeting and awards and a social gala later in the year to serve as a networking and  fundraising event for the organization. The response so far is encouraging!  Our breakfast meeting at Stokes Brown Library attracted a capacity crowd of nearly 120 and the feedback we have received seems to indicate that a broad cross section of our members like the new format.

REdI Parent Survey Offers A Chance for Parent Input Into Your Child's Education

Do you have a child in Robertson County schools in grades Pre K - 5?  If so, we hope you will participate in this year's  parent survey, conducted by the Robertson Education Initiative (REdI) in cooperation with Robertson County Schools.  This survey is your opportunity as a parent or guardian to give feedback on your satisfaction with the educational opportunities afforded your student in Robertson County.

Off and running...

The new Chamber year started with a bang on Monday, April 3 as we were honored to welcome Governor Bill Haslam to Robertson County for a visit. The Governor came to Springfield and toured the Highland Crest College campus and then Crestview Elementary School, where he spoke to a group of Tennessee Promise mentors, students and other invited guests.

A New Year...A Personal Perspective

April 1 marks the beginning of a new fiscal year for the Robertson County Chamber, and coincidentally it is my first day home from a trip to Jeremie, Haiti with a medical mission team from Mt. Carmel Baptist Church in Cross Plains. These posts are usually about our community and Chamber business, but I hope our readers will indulge a personal post this week.  Because a week in Haiti changes everything.
